Mir Moniruzzaman, founding member, former president and secretary of Barisal Reporters Unity was laid to rest at Barisal Muslim Gorosthan following Namaje Zanaja at B M School ground after Zohar prayer on Saturday afternoon.
He was 58 and editor of regional daily`Barisaler Kotha’, former staff reporter of regional weekly Lokobani, daily Ajker Kagoj, secretary of Barisal Press Club during his long 32-year carrier in journalism.
He died of a cardiac arrest at a Vanga hospital under Faridpur district on way to Dhaka after referred from Barisal SBMCH for better treatment on Friday afternoon.
He left behind his wife, a daughter, and two sons.
His body kept at Barisal Press Club and Barisal Reporters Unity for paying last tributes on his coffin on Saturday noon.
