A vested quarter has been hatching conspiracy against Md Anwar Rahman, Upazila Engineer and Md Shawkat Ali , Sub-Assistant Engineer, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) , Nawabganj in Dhaka by publishing false and fabricated news in different newspapers with ill motive recently .
It is learnt that an English and Bengali daily published news items providing misleading and false information -such as reports mentioned that irregularities committed in construction of 142-metre bridge on Komorganj GC via Ayanabazar Road under RTIP-2 Project but really there was no bridge like this and the fact is that there was only 36-metre bridge which was completed before joining of Md Anwar Rahman as Upazila Engineer of LGED in Nawabganj .
Md Anwar Rahman said, the construction work of Nawabganj GC-Paragram GC Road is going on full swing and concern contractor has been asked to correct some faults by in a written order .
Besides, for not finishing the work of Nawanganj-Gobindapur via Dapari Bazaar Road in due time , the matter has been informed to the higher authority and requested to cancel the contract, he said.
All works under PEDP-3 have been completed prior to the joining of existing upazila engineer and work under PEDP-4 has yet to be started.
The work of schools under GPS and NNGPS have been completed maintaining the quality and consultants have expressed satisfaction over the standard of works.
On the other hand, it is reported that huge amount of money has been demanded by the existing upazila engineer of LGED but is motivated and false , he claimed
Md Anwar Rahman said, I have been working for seven years with LGED with reputation and upmost sincerity .
He further said, I am not the authority of bill payment and it was prepared by Sub-assistant engineer .The bill was paid after final approval of district office .
About the information of his personal wealth and property , he denied it outright and he said I am a heart patient and I have no money for proper treatment even and my only son is autistic , he added .
