Ziaul Hasan Kislu is now popular among the viewers as an actor. But he was a teacher for long 34 years. When he was only 16 years old he took part in the Liberation War in 1971 at Gouranadi of Barishal under Sector No 9. In 1982, after completing his study from Chattogram University, he came to Dhaka and worked in a publication named Nipun for a year. He worked at Asiatic in 1983. In 1984, he passed in BCS exams and started teaching at Dorshona Govt College.
He retired from his job from Tolaram Govt College, Narayanganj. Now he is a full-fledged actor. Sometimes he takes classes on theatre.
Kislu informed that he has started acting in Nazrul Islam Raju’s ongoing serial Ghumonto Shohorey. He said, “I really miss the teaching profession. When I was teacher I always tried to spread the concept of our Liberation War among my students. As a part of teaching, now I also take classes on theatre besides acting.”
Kislu was general secretary of Chattogram’s first theatre group, Theatre 73 when he was a student of Chattogram College. His acted first TV play was late Momtazuddin Ahmed’s Folafol Nimnochap.
His acted only movie was Tauquir Ahmed’s Oggatonama. Father of two sons Kislu-acted theatre play Open Couple got huge popularity among the theatre-lovers.
