Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Saturday said verdicts pronounced by different courts against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman will be executed after bringing him back from London.
“BNP chief Khaleda Zia has been sentenced to 10-year imprisonment for
embezzling money meant to be spent for orphans. Her son Tarique was sentenced to life imprisonment for his involvement in the plotting of the August 21 grenade attack. He was sentenced to a seven-year imprisonment by another court for laundering money abroad. We would make him to face justice after bringing him back from abroad,” he said.
Anisul Huq said these while addressing a reception program organized by Akhaura upazila Awami League at Akhaura Upazila parishad field on Saturday afternoon.
“They (BNP-Jamaat alliance) tried to kill Sheikh Hasina 19 times. Allah saved her all the time. She turned Bangladesh a model of development through her able leadership,” the minister said.
Presided over by Upazila Awami League convener Principal Md Joynal Abedin, the program was also addressed by city mayor Takjil Khalifa Kazal, district council member Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, joint convener of Upazila Awami League Md Selim Bhuiyan and city Jubo League president Monir Khan, among others.
