Verdict on Gazipur court bomb blast case July 28

The High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court fixed July 28 to deliver the verdict in a case filed for suicide bomb blast at the Gazipur Court that killed nine people.
A HC bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice JBM Hassan announced the date after concluding the hearing on
the appeal. On June 20, 2013, a trial court sentenced 10 members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) for carrying the attack in 2005.
The convicts are Enayet Ullah alias Walid, Arifur Rahman, Moshidul Islam alias Masud, Saidur Munshi, Abdullah Al Sohaien, Nizam Uddin Reza, Talibur Rahman alias Hassan Ashraful Islam, Md Shafiullah alias Tareq and Adnan Sami alias Jahangir. All are now behind the bar.
The State claimed that the allegations brought against the convicts were proven beyond any reasonable doubt and sought capital punishment for them. While the defence prayed for reducing punishment to life term as they were all repented for their offences.
On November 29, 2005, Md Nazir Hossain alias Shariat Ullah from Gaibandha walked into the ground floor of the Bhawal Rajbari court complex and detonated the bomb strapped with his body. Nine people died and several others were injured.
