The Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 of Dhaka on Monday fixed December 31 to deliver its verdict in the blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider Shovon murder case.
Judge Sayeed Ahmed of the tribunal passed the order, after completion of the submission of arguments on behalf of the
prosecution and the defence.
Earlier, the court recorded the statements of 35 prosecution witnesses, including Rajib’s father, complainant of the case, while the total number of witnesses was 55.
Blogger Rajib Haider, who was also a Ganajagaran Mancha activist and an architect by profession, was stabbed to death on February 15, 2013 near his house at Mirpur Palash Nagor area in the capital. His father Dr Nazim Uddin filed the case with Pallabi Police Station of the city.
On January 29 of last year, DB Inspector and Investigation Officer of the case Nibaron Chandra Bormon submitted the charge sheet of the case to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka against eight accused.
