A Dhaka court yesterday decided to pronounce verdict today (Wednesday) of a money-laundering case filed against Gias Uddin Al Mamun, known as a friend of BNP leader Tareque Rahman.
Judge Abu Syed Diljar Hossain of the Special Judge Court-3 of Dhaka passed the order yesterday.
The prosecution and the defence completed
submission of the arguments in the case on April 8. Earlier, of the 12 witnesses in the case, the court recorded the depositions of 10.
The case was filed against Mamun for laundering more than Tk six crore to United Kingdom.
Accused Mamun was arrested on January 30 in 2007, during the tenure of Caretaker Government. Since then he has been behind the bar.
