The drivers and the supporters of battery run rickshaws ransacked the vehicles at Shah Amanat bridge area in city under Bakalia thana yesterday morning protesting the prohibition of battery run rickshaws by the administration. During the vandalism, about 8 CNG auto rickshaws, tempos city bus were ransacked.
Eye witnesses sources said the leaders of the battery-run rickshaw organizations staged demonstration in the area from morning time and a procession poured in the area which creates vandalism immediately.
Later police brought the situation under control. Bakalia thana police sources said the agitated processionists were proceeding to join the siege program at city gate through this way and being agitated ransacked this vehicles.
