Staff Reporter :Prices of boiler chicken, river fish and sugar increased, but vegetables and other commodities remained unchanged in the city kitchen markets at the end of the week on Friday. Potato (new) was selling at Tk 35 to 40 per kg, potato (old) at Tk 28 to 30 per kg, tomato (green) at Tk 25 to 30, tomato (ripe) at Tk50 to 55, bean at Tk 30 to 35, brinjal at Tk35 to 40, okra at Tk 50, green chilli at Tk 80 to 90, french at Tk 70 to 80, carrot at Tk 30 to 35 kg, bitter gourd at Tk 30 to Tk 35, cucumber at Tk 25 to 30, spone gourd at Tk 45 to 50, arum at 45 to 50, radish at Tk 20, papaya at Tk 20, snake gourd at Tk 30 to 35, pumpkin (medium size) at Tk 40 to 50 per piece, cauliflower at Tk 20 to 25 piece, cabbage at 20 to 30, bottle gourd at Tk 40 to 50, ash gourd at Tk 25 to 30 piece, coriander leaves at Tk 100 kg. Capsicum (red) at Tk 300 kg and capsicum (green) at Tk 250 to 300 kg. Price of each hilsha fish weighing one kilogram was about Tk 900 to 1000 at Pabna town, and each hilsha weighing 500 grams sell at Tk 350 to 400. Two pieces of hilsha weighing about 700 grams to 750 grams were selling at Tk 1000 to 1200 at Karwan Bazar fish market on Friday. Of the other fishes, Puti was selling at Tk 200 per kg, puti (live) at Tk 320 kg, Kholisa at Tk 250, Chapila at Tk 300, cultivated koi at Tk 200 to 220 per kg and koi river at Tk 400. Fali Chanda (Rupchada) at Tk 1100 kg, Chanda small at Tk 200 kg, walking fish (Shoal) at Tk 300 kg, Eel at Tk 300 to 600 kg, Meni at Tk 250 kg, Sheat (boal) at Tk 350 to 800 kg, Ek-thota (Kaitta fish) at Tk 300 to Tk 500, Baila at Tk 400 to 600 kg, Coral Fish at 550 kg, river Pangas at Tk 300 kg, cultivated Pangas at Tk 130 kg, Rajputi at Tk300 kg, Tilapia at Tk 140 to Tk 200 kg, Ruhit at Tk 250 to Tk 350 kg, medium size carp (katol) at Tk 230 -260 a kg, big size katol at Tk 300 kg, local variety of Cat fish (Shing) at Tk 400-500 a kg, barbel at Tk 700 kg, lobster at Tk 500 to 700 kg, and shrimp (River) at Tk 300-400 kg. Beef was selling for Tk 400 per kg at Khilgaon and the red meat at Tk 550 to 600. A medium size local cock was selling at Tk 380 to 500 per piece and hen at Tk 300 to 370. The boiler chickens’ price stands at Tk 140 to 145 per kg. The egg (farm) was selling at Tk 32 per hali (4 pieces), egg (local) at Tk 50 and egg (duck) at Tk 45 to Tk 48. Pigeon per pair was selling at Tk180 to Tk 250 and four koil birds were selling at Tk 200 based on size.Five liters of Rupchanda brand canned soybean oil was selling at Tk 490 to Tk 505, loose super palm oil at 75 per liter, sugar price at Tk 48 to 50 per kg and molasses at Tk 70 to 120 and flattened rice at Tk 70 to 90. The local onion was selling at Tk 35 to 40 per kg, while the imported onion at Tk 30 to 35 per kg. Newly arrived onion was selling at Tk 40 per kg. Imported garlic was selling at Tk 100 to 110 kg only, and local garlic at Tk 90 kg. Imported ginger was selling at Tk 100 to 120 per kg. The locally produced ginger was selling at Tk 90 to 100 kg based on quality.The red lentil was selling at Tk 130 per kg while the imported item (coarse variety) was selling at Tk 115 kg over the week, mash at 180 per kg. The coarse rice was selling in retail at Tk 32 to 34 per kg, Pyjam at Tk 40 to 42 kg, Nazirshail brand of rice at Tk 48 to 52 kg, Minicate at Tk 47-54 kg, Kattari bhog at Tk 75, Pillau rice (Badsha bhog) at Tk 90 to 120 kg and Kalijira at Tk 115 to 130 kg only. Coarse flour was selling at Tk40 per kg and a 2-kg packet at Tk 75.
