Vegetables, essentials price stable

The price onion and river fish while other vegetables and essential price has remained stable in the city’s kitchen markets at the end of the week on Friday.
Both local and imported onions increased by Tk 4-Tk 5 per kg in contrast a week.
Local variety was sold at Tk 24-Tk 30 per kg, while imported variety was traded at Tk 18-Tk 25 in retail market based on quality on Friday.
The price of superior quality local onion increased to Tk 1,080 to Tk 1,100 a maund at Karwan Bazar on Thursday, which were Tk 920 to Tk 950 seven days back, said Abdul Mannan, a onion traders of the market.
A whole seller conditioning anonymity said, onion price is started increasing while many seasonal farmers and traders were storing the spice item for making many.
The prices of indigenous fishes were upward stand round the week. The batashi was selling at Tk 450 to 550 per kg, koi (river) at Tk 450, Aire fish at Tk 500 to 600 per kg, pabda at Tk 600, sheat (boal) at Tk 550 to 700 per kg, cat fish at Tk 550 to 700 while cultivated cat fish (Shing) was selling at Tk 350- 550 per kg,  
barbell (cultivated) at Tk 400 to 600, butter fish at Tk 250 to 300, lobster at Tk 450 to 600 kg, shrimp (River) at Tk 380 -520, puti at Tk 250 per kg, cultivated koi at Tk 140 to 180 per kg, Fali Chanda (Rupchada) at Tk 750 to 800 per kg, walking fish (Shoal) at Tk 500 per kg, lata fish at Tk 200 to 250 and Eel at Tk 600 per kg, Ek-thota (Kaitta fish) at Tk 350 to Tk 400, Baila at Tk 450 to 600 per kg, coral fish at Tk 550 kg, river Pangas at Tk 350 per kg, cultivated Pangas at Tk 130 per kg, Rajputi at Tk 300 per kg, Tilapia at Tk 140 to Tk 200 per kg, Ruhit at Tk 250 to Tk 380 per kg, medium size carp (katol) at Tk 230 -360 per kg.
Of the vegetables, brinjal was selling at Tk 35 to 50 per kg, bean at Tk 35 to 45, tomato at Tk 35 to 45, potato at Tk 10 to 18, carrot at Tk 30 to 35, bitter gourd at Tk 60 to 70, cucumber at Tk 30, khira at Tk 20 to 25, spone gourd at Tk 90 to 100, turnip at Tk 20 to 25, green pea at Tk 50 to 60, beat at Tk 70, papaya at Tk 25 to 30, french at Tk 60 to 70, snake gourd at Tk 60 to 70, okra at Tk 70, radish at Tk 20, pumpkin (medium size) at Tk 30 to 50 per piece, bottle gourd at Tk 30 to 45, ash gourd at Tk 20 to 35 per piece, cabbage at Tk 15 to 25, cauliflower at 25 to 30 per piece, coriander leaves at Tk 120 per kg, green chilli at 40 to 50 kg, capsicum (red) at Tk 300 per kg and capsicum (green) at Tk 250 to 260 per kg and spinach Tk five per bundle.
Beef was selling at Tk 450 to 480 based on quality, beef (without bone) at Tk 650 per kg, buffalo meat at Tk 380 and red meat at Tk 700 to 750. Chicken (local cock) was selling at Tk 370 per kg, local (hen) at Tk 350, broiler chicken at Tk 150 to 155 per kg, chicken (Pakistani species) at Tk 150 to 180 per piece of 600 to 700gm.
Imported garlic was selling at Tk 190 to 210, while the local variety at Tk 160-Tk 180. Newly harvested garlic was selling on Friday at Tk 140 to 150 per kg, ginger was selling at Tk 70 to 80 per kg.
Rupchanda, a brand of Bangladesh Edible Oil Ltd (BOEL) was selling at Tk 107 (1 litre), Tk 212 (2 litre) and Tk 530 (five litre), which was Tk 102, Tk 200 and Tk 500 respectively. Teer and Fresh branded oil, products of City Group and Meghna Group respectively, were selling at Tk 105 a litre.
