The grand finale of model hunt contest, ‘Veet-Channel i Top Model 2014’ was held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city’s Sher-e-Banglanagar area recently.
The programme was broadcasted live on Channel i. The gala was a grand arrangement with performances by the Top 15 contestants, along with notable celebrity performances.
The winner of ‘Veet-Channel i Top Model 2014’ Sumaiya Anjum Mithila was crowned and given a cheque of Tk 5 lakh by Nayan Mukherjee, COO & Finance Director, RB Bangladesh-Sri Lanka Cluster; and Faridur Reza Sagor, Managing Director of Channel i.
Other prizes were handed over by Kazi Arif Zaman, Sales Director; Faija Ansari, HR Director; and Faria Yasmin, Cluster Marketing Manager, of Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh-Sri Lanka Cluster.
The first runner-up Sadia Islam Lamia and second runner-up Jannatun Nur Moon received cheques of Tk 3 lakh and Tk 2 lakh respectively.
In addition, the winners of ‘Miss Veet Congeniality,’ ‘Miss Veet Beautiful Skin’ and ‘Miss Veet Beautiful Smile’ received a cheque of Tk 1 lakh respectively.
‘Veet-Channel i Top Model’s judge panel was graced with renowned models and fashion and beauty experts, namely Nobel, Tania and Kaniz Almas.
The response this year has been overwhelming, with more than 7,000 participants registering from all over Bangladesh for the 3rd season.
After an audition round of 250 short-listed applicants, the panel of judges selected the Top 20 contestants for ‘Veet-Channel i Top Model 2014.’
Through a series of challenging grooming sessions conducted by professionals in the beauty and fashion industry, the top 20 faced intense elimination rounds and finally arrived to the top 5.
In ‘Veet-Channel i Top Model 2014,’ the top 7 contestants were also taken to Sri Lanka for an international fashion exposure. n
