Staff Reporter :A private university student was killed when he was Sandwiched by two buses in the city’s Malibagh area on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Mozammel Kanchan, 23, a student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Islamic University of Chittagong, Dhaka campus.Mozammel hailed from Noakhali and used to live at Rampura in the capital.The driver of Dibanishi Paribahan and the helper of Falgun Paribahan have been detained in this connection, police said. Winesses said that Mozammel was crossing the road and just then two city buses belonging to the Dibanishi Paribahan and the Falgun Paribahan around 9:00am pressed him. The victim was taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty doctors declared him dead.Mohammad Alamgir, brother-in-law of the deceased, identified the body in the hospital. According to him, Mozammel completed his BBA from Islamic University of Chittagong’s Dhaka campus.He was an intern at a private institution, Alamgir said. Mozammel was going to his workplace in the morning.DMCH Police Outpost In-charge and sub Inspector (SI) Mozammel Haque said, the body had been kept in the morgue.Shahjahanpur Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Sk Khud-e-Newaz confirmed the matter.Meanwhile, another youth was killed in a road accident in front of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus depot at Kallyanpur in the capital on Sunday morning.The identity of the deceased could not be known instantly. The body has been sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
