A van driver named Nahid Hasan (28) was killed and his wife Aklima (22) was admitted to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital in a collision with a chicken truck at Rashidpur Molan area on Panchbibi-Ghoraghat road on Thursday noon. Nahid is the son of Ali Ahmed of Barkandri village.
According to the locals, Nahid was on his way home from Rashidpur Molan by a rickshaw with his wife when he was hit from behind by a truck loaded with chickens. He fell on the road and died. Panchbibi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mansur Rahman confirmed the incident and said the driver and helper along with the truck have been arrested. The body has been sent to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital for autopsy.
