Vaccination in SCBA to continue

About 1200 people have already received the Covid-19 vaccines at the special booth set up in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). Vaccination at the special booth began from Monday at the request of the lawyers.
The vaccination program arranged for the Supreme Court lawyers will continue till the next week, said SCBA Secretary Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kazal.
A large hall room where our lawyers work regularly is being used for the purpose, said the Secretary.
“Supreme Court lawyers, lawyers’ clerks and bar staff and their family members are receiving the vaccines in the special booth. About 1200 people have received the vaccines so far,” Barrister Kazal also said.
Meanwhile, another special booth for the lawyers’ vaccination had been set up in the Dhaka Bar Association also on Thursday, said Dhaka Bar Secretary Khandaker Md Hazrat Ali.
At the request of the lawyers, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) decided to set up two special booths in the Supreme Court Bar Association and Dhaka Bar Association premises for the vaccination of the lawyers of the two bars.
The Director of the DGHS who is also the member-Secretary of the Covid-19 Vaccine Management Task Force Committee issued a notification on August 8 to this effect. According to the notification, the Attorney General of Bangladesh sent a letter to the Director General of the DGHS August 5.
He (Attorney General) requested to set up temporary Covid-19 vaccination centers in the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Dhaka Bar Association premises for the purpose of vaccinating more than 10,000 lawyers of the Supreme Court and 25,332 lawyers of the Dhaka Bar Association, also read the notification.
The Director General of the DGHS gave his consent to the issue and at the same time asked for taking necessary steps to include the two centers in the security website, also read the notification.
Earlier Attorney General AM Amin Uddin said he was trying to do a special arrangement for vaccinating the lawyers in all courts of the country, including the Supreme Court. The issue has already been contacted with the different government departments, he added.
