Vaccination among foreign diplomats starts

COVID-19 vaccination programmes among the foreign diplomats in Bangladesh started on Wednesday in Dhaka.
In first day, about 30 foreign diplomats and several family members of some of the diplomats have been inoculated through the programme arranged by Bangladesh government.

Turan, French Ambassador Jean-Marin Schuh, German Ambassador Peter Fahrenholtz and Australian High Commissioner Jeremy Bruer received the first dose of the jab at the Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute and Hospital in Dhaka.
State Minister, Foreign Affairs, M Shahriar Alam inaugurated the programme and took vaccine first in the center. He said that about 1,200 foreign diplomats and officials of the international organisations would be able to receive the vaccine.
After receiving his first dose of vaccine, Dean of Diplomatic Corps, George Kocherry suggested all people take the vaccine for eliminating the fatal disease.
Indian envoy also expressed satisfaction after taking the jab. European Union Ambassador in Dhaka Rensji Teerink called upon all through a Facebook post to get vaccinated for protecting others.
Sources said, a total of 1,58,451 people were vaccinated on Wednesday, the fourth day of the nationwide coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination programme. A total of 3, 37,769 people have been vaccinated in the country so far.
Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Director of the Department of Health MIS and Line Director HIS and e-Health, confirmed this information on Wednesday.
