Uzbekistan maintained winning spree in the AFC Under-19 Championship Qualifiers campaign beating Sri Lanka by 3-0 goals in their Group-A 2nd match at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
With their 2nd successive victory in the tournament, Uzbekistan has secured full six points as the side crushed Bhutan by 7-0 goals in the meet opener on Friday last.
Sri Lanka is yet to open their account after losing to Bangladesh 2-0 in their first match also on the opening day at the same venue.
In the day’s match, midfielder Tukhtasinov Nurillo put Uzbekistan ahead by a placing shot in the very 8th minute off a cross from the right flank by another midfielder Kodirkulov Sanjar, 1-0.
Medio Doston Ibragimov extended the lead in the 20th minute off a cut off neat through pass from the midfield area by Kodirkulov Sanjar, 2-0.
Kodirkulov Sanjar wrote his name in the scorers list in the 33rd minute utilising a pass off Sharof Mukhitdinov from the goal-mouth melee, 3-0.
In their 3rd and last group stage match, Uzbekistan will face host Bangladesh at 6pm local time at the same venue on Tuesday (October 6).
