A Dhaka court on Sunday sent newly elected chairman of Savar upazila, Alhaj Md Kafiluddin to jail rejecting his bail pleas in two separate cases.
Earlier on Sunday, Kafiluddin surrendered to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Dhaka in two cases and sought bail, while Senior Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam passed orders to send him to jail. The court also rejected the bail petitions, submitted on behalf of Kafiluddin.
Both the cases were lodged in November last year with Savar Police Station. Of the two cases, one was filed on the charge of vandalism, while the other was filed under the Explosive Substances Act.
