UWA Bangladesh community welcomes Dr Amit Chakma

The University of Western Australia Society of Bangladeshi Culture (USBC) welcomes Prof Amit Chakma, Vice Chancellor, University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, Australia.
USBC – an organization of Bangladeshi students, staff and alumni of UWA has given a formal reception to the recently appointed Bangladeshi born Vice-Chancellor Prof Amit Chakma recently. He was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Meena Chakma. On the occasion, Prof Amit Chakma has been awarded an honorary crest and a sash for his lifetime achievement by the USBC.
The event was held at the West Leederville Town Hall auditorium in Perth, the capital of Western Australia. During that event, Prof Chakma distributed prizes among the winners of the USBC Annual Sports Competition-2020.
The event began with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Australia. Prof Amit Chakma shared various aspects of his life with the audienceduring his speech, which was inspirational. He said, “I want to make positive changes to uphold the dignity of the responsibility of my position bestowed upon me. I believe that success is achieved by giving best effort to any job”.
He also emphasized a combination of talent and fate to succed in life. He expressed his high hope for bright future of students studying at UWA.
He also enjoyed several cultural performances by the students, alumni and younger generation of the USBC. On request, Prof Chakma and Mrs Chakma also performed a traditional tribal song for the audience.
