Entertainment Report :Popular TV actress and costume designer Wahida Mollick Jolly got the National Film Award for the first time. She received the National Award 2013 in category of Best Costume Designer for Gazi Rakayet’s directed movie Mrittika Maya. Uttam Guha also got the award in category of Best Art Director for same movie. Both Jolly and Uttam Guha received the awards from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a ceremony held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Saturday night. While sharing her feelings after the receiving the award Wahida Mollick Jolly told this correspondent, “I am really glad to get the national award as a costume designer. Everybody pray for me as I can present more better works in future. I am giving thanks to all specially the Prime Minister and director of movie Mrittika Maya Gazi Rakayet to get the honor.”Uttam Guha shared his feelings by this way, “Getting award always help the person to make a commitment and dedication to his/her works for its betterment. I am really impressed that the state showed me honour. I am giving thanks to all who have nominated me for the award including director Gazi Rakayet.”It may be mentioned that earlier Uttam Guha got this award as Best Art Director for five times. He got the awards for Sheikh Niamat Ali’s Annyo Jibon (1995), Tanvir Mokammel’s Chitra Nodir Parey (1999), Chashi Nazrul Islam’s Hason Raza (2002), Tanvir Mokammel’s Lalon (2005) and Gazi Mahbub’s Raja Surjo Kha (2012).Uttam Guha started his career as a successful an art director in the film industry by Mostafa Ali’s directed and Wasim-Rozina’s acted movie Protighat. Now he is engaged with work of Goutam Ghosh’s directed movie Shonkhochil. On the other hand, when she was studying in Rabindra Bharati of Kolkata, India Wahida Mollick Jolly started working as a costume designer. As a solo costume designer, she first worked in Ashok Mukherjee’s a play titled May Dibosh-er Golpo there.In Bangladesh, Jolly first worked as a costume designer in Saidul Anam Tutul’s Adhiar. Later she also worked in Salauddin Lavlu’s film Molla Barir Bou. Mrittika Maya was her third work as a designer.
