Strikers tried to set fire to a four-wheeler passenger vehicle at the city’s Kadamtali area, but a passenger stopped the three attackers.
The passenger, ‘Monowar’, who is an Ansar personnel, suffered slight burns on his hand during a scuffle with the strikers, who later fled.
No other untoward incident has been reported from elsewhere in Dhaka until 12pm.
Though traffic was somewhat as usual on the streets, but long-haul bus services remained suspended at the inter district bus-terminals of Mohakhali, Gabtoli and Sayedabad.
Train and launch services are being operated on schedule.
