The students of Pharmacy Department of the University of Science and Technology, Chittagong confined the vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Prabat Chandra Barua in his room until the fulfillment of their demands including teachers crisis.
Students sources said until their demands are fulfilled, they will not go to new Phamacy Building.
The confinement program enforced from 12 noon yesterday. Universtiy sources said new 18 storied university building was built adjoining BTV bhaban and authority directed the students of the Pharmacy department tt to shift to new building but the students unwilling to shift there lack of lift problems, teachers crisis and concised space of class rooms.
But the university authority assures the students to fuffill their demands but the students declined to shift until the demands are fulfilled beforehand.
Officer In charge of Kulshi thana Nizamuddin told the media that Ustc authority assures the students to fulfill their demands but the students demand implementation of their demands before shifting the Pharmacy department Kulshi thana OC further s aid they are trying to calm the situation with bilateral negotiations.
