‘Using latest technologies to boost jute output underscored’

Speakers at a training workshop underscored the need for large-scale adoption of the latest agri-technologies, including ribbon retting method, at the farmers’ levels for boosting jute output and upgrading quality and grade of the fibre.
They were addressing the daylong workshop organised by the Upazila Jute Department under the High Yielding Jute and Jute Seed Production and Improved Jute Retting Project of the Ministry of Jute and Textiles at Nababganj upazila parishad auditorium in Dinajpur on Thursday.
Nababganj Upazila Agriculture Officer of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Akherur Rahman presided over the workshop participated by 100 farmers from different villages of the upazila.
Assistant Director of the Directorate of Jute for Dinajpur Kamal Krishna Kundu and its Chief Inspector Abu Ehiya conducted the workshop as resource persons.
