Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil International University (DIU) and Daffodil Family visited the Hands On Program for Entrepreneurship (HOPE), an entrepreneurial wing setup under Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) during his visit to USIM recently. High officials of USIM were present and introduced Sabur Khan with different sections of the HOPE. Both universities ¾ USIM and DIU ¾ agreed to work together under this platform on entrepreneurship development in and around this region.
Earlier YBhg Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, Chairman, USIM; YBhg Prof Dato’ Dr Musa Ahmad, VC; Prof Dato’ Dr Zulkiple Abd Ghani, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International); Prof Dr Roshada Hashim, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation), USIM and other Deans and high officials welcomed Sabur Khan during his USIM visit.
Sabur Khan delivered a presentation on DIU mentioning opportunities for development of entrepreneurship between DIU and USIM. The decision of the meeting was to initiate joint work on the development of entrepreneurship.
The joint work would be: initiation of Blended Learning, Summer program, Al-Qur’an Research Center, translating and publishing ‘A Journey Towards Entrepreneurship’ (written by Sabur Khan) in Malay language and exchange of faculty and students.
HOPE provides an opportunity and space to expand cooperation and networking with the industry in developing and empowering entrepreneurship.
The HOPE program is designed, developed and implemented by entrepreneurs with more than 10 years of industrial experience where theoretical and practical filling sessions are shared jointly by entrepreneurs, industry leaders, academic experts and human resource trainers.
Implementation of HOPE is very relevant at present time to produce more graduate entrepreneurs as HOPE emphasized the practical component of 80 percent and 20 percent of the theoretical component of the evaluation system.
While the achievements and performance of each HOPE student are measured using the Industry-based Performance Assessment System, through 12 criteria in the Key Result Area (KRA) and 8 criteria in Behavioral Competencies (BC).
It is a great hope for students of DIU and Bangladesh with entrepreneurial spirit to expose their mettle through a tested competitive platform.
