Premier Hockey: Usha KC make flying start in super league

League leader Usha Krira Chakra made a flying start in the six-team super league of the Green Delta Premier Division Hockey outplaying Dhaka Wanderers Club by 6-0 goals in the opening match at Moulana Bhashani National Stadium here on Monday.
With the day’s well merited win, Usha KC further consolidated position in the league securing 34 points from 12 matches while Dhaka Wanderers Club remained at 15 points, also playing 12 matches.
Pakistani player Mohammad Aleem Belal made a hat-trick scoring three goals in a row in the 12th, 23rd and 38th minutes, all from penalty corners. Hasan Jubair Niloy, Pushkar Khisa Mimo and Krishna Kumar netted one field goal each in the 57th, 58th and 66th minutes respectively for Usha KC, which dominated the first half by 2-0 goals.
In the day’s other match, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club crushed Bangladesh Sporting Club by 11-1 goals after leading the first half by 4-0 goals.
With the day’s feat, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club remained at 2nd slot in the league table securing 31 points while Bangladesh SC remained at 15 points, also playing 12 matches.
Rimon Kumar Ghsoh struck three, Moinul Islam Kawshik and Fazlee Hossain Rabbi scored two goals each while Waqas Sharif, Ishtiaq Ahmed Arshad Hossain and Ashraful Islam netted one each for the winners while Shahid scored the consolation goal for the loses in the 2nd half.
