Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said on Thursday that there were 25 thousand government portals and requested citizens to make full use of it under the Right to Information Act.
He was speaking at a seminar at the Shilpakala Academy on the occasion of International Information Right Day, September 28, following a colorful rally in the morning from the National Press Club to the Shilpakala Academy with chairman of the Information Commission Dr Golam Rahman in the chair.
“A vigilant citizenry was the foundation of a vibrant democracy,” the minister said.
He also said that to facilitate citizens to access information the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had enacted the Right to Information law in 2009 and people could connect themselves, digitally, through the national information window that connects the 25 thousand web portals of all the government departments.
