The United States has urged the government of Bangladesh to arrest the perpetrators behind the killing of ProfRezaul Karim Siddiquee and other attacks motivated by ‘intolerance and hatred’.”We condemn the senseless killing of Prof Rezaul Karim Siddiquee and mourn his loss,” said US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat in a statement on Sunday night. Bernicat said she has spoken to people who knew Prof Rezaul Karim well and she has learned about a humble, cultured man who loved the sitar and provided donations to local mosques. “No claims made by violent extremists will overshadow his legacy,” said the US Ambassador urging Bangladesh government to condemn such murder.Rezaul Karim, a professor of English Department at Rajshahi University, was murdered on Saturday.
