A three member US delegation lead by Dr Golam M Mathbor, President, American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) and Professor, School of Social Work of Monmouth University, USA called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Sunday at the latter’s office.
The other members of the delegation were Dr Michael Bowler, Vice-President, AIBS and Syeda Nur-E-Royhan Associate Coordinator, AIBS. DU Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Dr Md Nurul Islam and Dr ASM Atiqur Rahman were present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests specially strengthening bi-lateral relationship between AIBS and Monmouth University, USA with the university of Dhaka.
The delegates discussed about exchange of scholars to enhance academic and research activities. They expressed keen interest to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DU with a view to organizing joint programs like seminars, symposiums and workshops to improve strategic management for higher education.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the delegation for visiting the university. He hoped that through bi-lateral cooperation academic excellence of both universities would be further enriched and enhanced which will play an important role to increase quality of higher education.
