US-BD aviation medicine SMEE-2017 concludes

A four-day aviation medicine ‘Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) -2017’ concluded at Flying Wing headquarters, BAF Base Bangabandhu, Kurmitola, in the city on Thursday.
The Pacific Air Force, Command Surgeon’s Office and Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Aviation Medicine Institution jointly arranged the programme, said an ISPR release.
Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bangabandhu Air Commodore Muhammad Mafidur Rahman graced the ceremony as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.
The programme, SMEE, aimed at exploring ways to apply aviation medicine on patient movement to better enhance aircrew safety and patient care during mass casualty.
It also intended to explore opportunities and share best practices to develop interoperability between aviation medical personnel when operating in harsh environments and unfamiliar culture during humanitarian assistance (HA) and disaster response in peacekeeping operations and natural disasters, it added.
