Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) detained a cabin crew of US-Bangla Airlines with 10kgs of gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airportat (HSIA) in the capital on Thursday morning.
Rokeya Sheikh Moushumi, was detained from a US-Bangla flight from Muscat, Oman, which landed at HSIA around 11:00am, said APBn Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations and Media) Alamgir Hossain.
He said, “APBn had prior information that a crew member of the airline was carrying gold bars to Dhaka from Muscat. When Rokeya was interrogated, she confessed the matter.”
A senior level official from US-Bangla, wishing to be anonymous, said he was unaware of the matter.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection.
