Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has recently observed urban and regional planning (URP) day amid festivity.
With the slogan ‘Plan for Livable Bangladesh’, the university authority celebrated the day while a round-table on ‘Planned Chittagong and Relevant Thoughts’ was also held.
Vice-Chancellor of CUET, Prof Dr Md. Jahangir Alam, as chief guest, during the program, urged urban planners to come forward in building a well-planned Bangaldesh.
“It is necessary that they serve their best so that the country, full of natural disasters, turns a sustainable and enriched one”. Presided over by CUET URP department’s chairman Sultan Md. Faruque, the program was attended among others by Prof Dr Akhter Mahmud, general secretary of Bangladesh Institute of Planners.
However, prior to the meeting, a procession paraded the CUET campus while following the round-table, a function staged a vibrant cultural program to bid farewell to the graduates and also threw welcome to the freshers.
