Works of a package of on-going development projects undertaken by Netrakona Pourasava involving taka about 65 crores to develop the Poura town and increasing the civic amenities are expected to be completed within next two months.
This was informed by Mayor of Netrakona Pourasava Alhaj Nazrul Islam Khan while he was speaking at a views-exchanging meeting with local journalists at his official conference room here on Wednesday .
The meeting discussed matters relating to progress of works of different on-going development projects undertaken by the pourasava.
The mayor said, the development projects including construction and reconstruction of roads, culverts, bridges, drains, installation of pipe lines for water supply and overhead water tanks and taking solid wastage management networks.
He underlined the need for cooperation of journalists for implementation of the development projects properly and timely saying that the newspersons have wider opportunities to highlight the local problems and opinions of local people for salvation of the problems side by side with development activities of the pourasava.
Replying to a question of a journalists, the mayor Nazrul Islam Khan, who also a joint secretary of Awami League, Netrakona District Unit said he will seek nomination from Awami League for contesting as an MP candidate in the next Jatiya Sangsad election.
