Uplift of rural people becomes visible

Government officials at a discussion have said huge development of rural people has become visible improving their livelihoods and life standard following implementation of massive government programmes.
They made the observation at the discussion arranged during a women rally cum documentary film show organised by the Rangpur District Information Office (DIO) in Kawnia Upazila Parisahd auditorium on Wednesday.
The DIO arranged the event under the “Strengthening the publicity for development of rural people” project to inform women about 10 special initiatives of the prime minister (PM), successes already achieved by the government and its future development plans.
Earlier, documentary films were screened focusing on the successes achieved by the government in various sectors.
The films also highlighted the success in preventing child marriage, militancy and terrorism to improve life standard and livelihoods of the rural people.
With Senior District Information Officer Md Humayun Kabir in the chair, Kawnia Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Nazia Sultana attended the discussion as the chief guest.
Kawnia Upazila Women Affairs Officer Nuresh Kawser and Upazila Cooperative Officer Md Mahbubul Islam addressed the occasion as special guests.
Assistant District Information Officer Sabiha Akhter Lucky narrated huge positive impacts on life and livelihoods of rural people following successful implementation of massive government programmes, including the PM’s 10 special initiatives.
In his presentation, Humayun Kabir elaborately discussed the successes achieved in implementing the PM’s 10 special initiatives and agriculture, education, health, women empowerment, power, digitisation, preservation of environment and other sectors.
Assistant teacher of Kawnia Girls’ School Hasna Pervin Mukta, upazila technical coordinator of LAMB Hospital Monju Ara Begum, president of the ‘Teesta Milk Cooperative Society Naznin Sultana, among others, took part in the open discussion.
