In an operation Bangladesh Army detained a tribal extortionist with a local-made LG from Gachban area of Sadar upazila in the district on Thursday night.
The detainee is identified as Sukendu Tripura, 32, son of Birendra Tripura from Prokalpo Para area under Bhaibonchhara union of Sadar upazila. He is an active member of the regional tribal organization led by Prasit Khisa of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF).
Khagrachhari Sadar zone commander of the army Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Arafat Hossain said, “There has a specific allegation of extortion against the detained accused.
