The Election Commission (EC) started updating of voter list across the country from November 25 and it will continue till December 15.
Those, who were born before January 1999, will be eligible to be included on the voter list, Secretary of EC Muhammad Abdullah said.
This time, the EC’s enumerators will not visit door to door for collecting data. The citizens, who want to be enrolled on the voter lists, will, rather, visit their respective upazila or thana election offices for the purpose.
The secretary announced this at a press conference in the media centre of the EC secretariat on Sunday noon.
Attested photocopies of birth registration certificate, citizenship certificate, utility bills and certificate of SSC or equivalent examination will be required for becoming a voter.
Currently, there are around 10 crore voters in the country.
