The Jubo League President of Rajshahi’s Bagmara Upazilla’s Goalkandi Union Sohel Rana (35) ran away leaving about 18 bottles Phensedyl in a sack after seeing the police personnel on Tuesday night.
Taherpur police investigation centre informed that a police were patrolling Taherpur- Sikdari highway on Tuesday night. During this time a youth named Md Nasir Udding was walking aimlessly at the hachary intersection. Police suspected and arrested him. After search the cop has got one bottle of Phensedyl and five piece Yaba tablets.
Facing interrogation, Nasir Uddin said these were given by Sohel Rana. Police went to the Sohel Rana’s house. After smelling police presence sohel Rana ran away from the home leaving 18 bottles Phensydel in a sack.
Deputy Inspector Jilalur Rahman, the officer- in -charge of Taherpur Police Investigation Center, said that he has filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act against Nasir Uddin and the fugitive Sohel Rana.
Nasir Uddin was sent to jail by the court on Wednesday afternoon.
Abdul Jalil, General Secretary of Upazila Jubo League, said that if the incident is true, it is sad. This has damaged the image of the organization. Organizational measures will be taken in this regard.
