Door to door campaign to woo voters in Pirganj

Electioneering in Pirganj upazila under Thakurgaon district has reached momentum as the aspirants are now moving door to door for votes in the election to be held on March 23 for the fourth phase. 
The candidates along with their supporters are holding meetings at villages. They are also making different pledges to develop the upazila and take initiatives to improve people’s living standard. Local people and officials said the candidates both for the posts of chairman, vice chairman and Women vice chairman are making electioneering campaign by reaching to the door-steps of the voters, exchanging pleasantries with the voters, enquiring the voters’ well-beings and requesting them to cast their votes for ensuring electoral victory of the candidates. The supporters of the candidates are distributing leaflets with the election symbols and photographs of the candidates among the local people especially the voters and trying to convince the voters to cast their votes in favour of the candidates. Mikings are being held from 2p.m. to 8p.m everyday for the same purposes. Apart from these, posters and festoons with the election symbols and photographs of the candidates are being hanged in all the road side corners and busy places in the upazila to draw the attention of the voters. Leaflets containing election pledges and candidate’s views regarding development of the areas are being distributed among the voters.
Ten candidates are contesting in the March 23 polls (Pirganj upazila Parishad election)which includes ten Unions and one Pourashava. Of them, Four will vie for chairman post, Three for vice-chairman post and Three for the post of vice-chairman reserved for women. The chairman candidates are Pirganj Upazila BNP secretary and lecture of Shibganj degree college Md. Ziaul Islam Zia(Pineapple ), Pirganj Upazila Awamileague vice president and formal UP chairman Md. Ekramul Hoque (Motorcycal), Formal UP chairman Md. Harun Ur Rashid (Horse ) and Pirganj Upazila Workes party secretary Md. Foyzul Islam(Ink-pot & Pen). The vice chairman candidates are Present vice President and secretary of Upazila Kresak league Asraf Ali Badsha (Lock), Upazila Zamateislamai Amir and Assistant Professor of DN degree college Pirganj Md. Abul Kasim (Spectacle)and Sukumar Ray ( Tube-well ). The female vice chairman candidates are Awamileague leader Bharatee Rani Ray ( Duck), Kasharaniganj UP Member And Awamileague Supporter Shita Rani Ray (AL rebel), BNP leader Mrs. Parul Begum Kali (Picher). 
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Pirganj and Assistant Returning Officer, Sabbir Ahmed said, they are taking necessary measures to ensure a free, fair and credible election in the upazila.
Single AL candidate at Gafargaon UZ polls

The Awami League has nominated single candidate for chairman,vice-chairman and woman vice-chairman under Gafargaon Upazila Parishad election.
According to the decision of central AwamiL League, AwamiLeague Organizing Secretary Ahmmad Hossain on Monday night declared Ashraf Uddin Badal Chairman, Moniruzzaman Moni for vice-chairman and Reshma Akter for woman vice-chairman for this posts and informed Mymensingh District Awami League of this matter. On the other hand, according to the decision of central Awami League the nomination paper for the post of upazila chairman, Awami League leader Alal Ahmmed,Obaidullah Anuwer Bulbul,Ataur RahmanJasim and Advocate Shafiqul Islam has been withdrawn their candidature from vice-chairman.

Electioneering in Narsingdi Sadar upazila under Narsingdi district has reached momentum as the aspirants are now moving door to door for votes in the election to be held on March 31 for the fifth phase. The candidates along with their supporters are holding meetings at villages. They are also making different pledges to develop the upazila and take initiatives to improve people’s living standard.

Of them, 4 will vie for chairman post, 5 for vice-chairman post and 2 for the post of vice-chairman reserved for women. The chairman candidates are Manzur Alahe (BNP), Tananna Nosrat Boblile (AL), Abdul Whahab Mullah (Islime Andulan) and Habibullah Bahar (Independent). The vice chairman candidates are Kabir Ahammad (BNP), Md. Kofilluddin (AL), Amirul Islam (Jamat), Babul Sharkar (BNP rebel), Shakawat Hossain Shoka (AL rebel), Arafat Rahman (Independent), Nasiruddin (Independent). The female vice chairman candidates are Advocate Ummay Salma Maya (BNP), Thoihida Akter Rona (AL). Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Narsingdi and assistant returning officer, Venisa Rodrix said, they are taking necessary measures to ensure a free, fair and credible election in the upazila. 
A total of 395842 enlisted voters including 198669 male and 197173 female voters are likely to cast their votes through 773 polling booths of the 141 vote centers in Narsingdi Sadar upazila, he ensured. Polls campaigns get momentum in Narsingdi District Correspondent Election campaign in Sadar Upazila is getting momentum and the candidates are passing their busy times visiting people at their doorsteps seeking votes for the upcoming upazila election.
