Naogaon near by Bogra’s Adamdighi Upazila Awami League conference is going to be held after 8 years. Municipal and union committees are being reconstituted from the Trinamool ward in phases centered on the Upazila Awami League conference.
If all goes well, the tri-annual conference of Adamdighi Upazila Awami League will be held on Saturday, December 5. After a long time, the vibrancy has returned among the Awami League leaders, activists and supporters.
According to the sources of Adamdighi Upazila Awami League, the last conference of Upazila Awami League was held on 12 December 2012. At the conference, the late Anshar Ali Mridha was elected president and Alhaj Sirajul Islam Khan Raju was elected general secretary.
Advocate Kudrat-e-Elahi Kajal has been the acting president of Kajal Upazila Awami League since the death of Anshar Ali Mridha on July 25, 2016. After that, the conference decided in March, but it was closed due to Corona.
According to the recent directives of the Central Awami League and the decision of the Bogra District Awami League, the Upazila Awami League conference is going to be held on December 5. According to this decision, all preparations are being completed for the conference to be held on the scheduled date.
In this regard, General Secretary and Upazila Chairman of Adamdighi Upazila Awami League Alhaj Sirajul Islam Khan Raju said that before the Upazila Conference, conferences of 63 wards, Municipalities and Union Committees are being held in 8 Unions including Santahar Municipality. The activities started on November 12. The conference of ward, municipal and union committees will be held by November 29.
The new leaders of these committees will elect the president and general secretary as councilors of the upazila conference. Upazila Awami League vice-president Abu Reza Khan, Awami League leader Nazimul Huda, Rafiqul Islam and others are giving full time in the ongoing council.
