An UP member was killed on Friday after being attacked on Wednesday by rivals in land feud in Mohamadpur upazila of Magura district.
Deceased Kabil Hossain was injured on Wednesday night in his village Panighata under Noahata Union.
Firstly he was taken to Magura Sadar hospital on the night.
He succumed to injuries in Faridpur Medical College Hospital on Friday morning.
Noahata UP Chairman and local Awami League leader Ali Mia told the journalists that Kabil Hossain was once involved in BNP’s politics. But he worked in favour of him (Ali Mia) in last UP election with his party symbol ‘boat’. For this reason, his contester in the UP polls another AL leader and former UP chairman Mostafa Kamal Siddique Liton become angry with Kabil. On Wednesday, Liton’s men attacked Kabil and lastly he died.
But Liton rejected this allegation and said he had no connection in this incident. Officer In-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, Md. Rabiul Islam said that Kabil Hossain was seriously injured in a land dispute on Wednesday and died on Friday. The police will take action after filing of case.
