The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Union Parishad chairmen of Shibalaya and Saturia upazila of Manikganj was held on Saturday. In the programme, 7 union councils’ chairmen of Shibalaya upazila and 9 union councils’ chairmen of Saturia upazila took oath. Manikganj DC Muhammad Abdul Latif presided over the ceremony at the Union Parishad Conference Room. Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek Swapan was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Manikganj District Council Administrator and District Awami League President Golam Mohiuddin, Shibalaya Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Freedom Fighter Rezaur Rahman Khan Janu, Saturia Upazila Chairman Adv Abdul Majid Photo and other officials of various departments of the district and upazila were present on the occasion.
On the same day, Shibalaya UNO Mohammad Zahidur Rahman administered oath to the winners of 63 general members and 21 reserved members in Shibalaya Upazila Conference room. It may be mentioned that in the 6th phase, 2Awami League candidates and 5 rebel candidates won in 7 unions of Shibalaya upazila.
On the other hand, Saturia UNO Sharmin Ara administered the oath of office to the winners of 81 general members and 27 reserved members in the Saturia Upazila Conference Room. It may be mentioned that in 9 unions of Saturia upazila, 6 Awami League candidates and 3 rebel candidates won the post of chairman.
