Two including a Union Parishad chairman were sued Under Section 57 of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act on the charge of posting a Facebook status defaming High Court Judge Gobinda Chandra Thakur.
Advocate Sujit Chatterjee filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station in city on Tuesday night.
Madaripur district’s Kadambari UP Chairman Bidhan Biswas and a localinhabitant Golam Mawla were made accused in the case. Duty Officer of Shahbagh Police Station informed newsmen about filing of the case. He said, Chairman Bidhan Biswas organized a human chain against Justice Gobinda Chandra Thakur in his area when he placed banners inscribing humiliating words. Later, he posted photos and status against the justice on Facebook, he added.
