A court in Jessore on Monday sent a union parishad chairman in Abhoynagar upazila of Jessore to jail rejecting his bail prayer in a case for possessing firearms.
Court sources said Paritosh Kumar Mondal, chairman of Sundali union, surrendered before the District Sessions and Judge’s Court and sought bail in the case in the afternoon and Judge Ismael Hossain ordered to send him to jail rejecting the bail prayer.
