Law enforcing agencies in a drive arrested an Awami League (AL) leader on charge of carrying arms without declaration through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Monday afternoon.
The detained man has been identified as Mehedi Hasan alias Masud, General Secretary of Chougachha Upazila of Jashore district and also a chairman of Fulshar Union Parishad of the upazila, said, Wing Commander Abdullah Al Faruq, Director of HSIA.
Earlier, noted actor Ilias Kanchaon entered into the same airport with arms that could not identify in scanner. On March 8, one Mamun Ali entered the HSIA with arms that already created mass outcry over the security of the airport.
