Police rounded up Chairman of Demsha Union Parishad of Satkania upazila in south Chittagong Ramzan Ali for alleged extortion case.
He was detained from Keranihat area of the upazila on Friday at about 8 pm. Following a case so filed by a lawyer before the court of chittagong for alleged extortions and taking signature in blank stamp forcibly from a person in the area recently.
Court issued warrant of arrest in the meantime and rounded up by Satkania thana police . UP chairman will be present before the court yesterday , district police sources said.
