UP chairman, 4 others held with phensidyl , Yaba in Jhenaidah

The rapid action battalion personnel in Jhenaidah have arrested five drug traders including a union parishad chairman, also a ruling party leader and seized contra banned phensedyl syrup, yaba tablet and bombs from their possessions on Thursday afternoon. The matter was disclosed in the evening before the journalist at Jhenaidah Rab-6 office.
The arrested were Barobazer union parishad chairman, also an Awami League leader Abul Kalm, his brother Abdus Sabur Khan, Mijanur Darji (tailor), Nazrul Islam and Billal Hossain.
RAB-6 camp commander Major Manir Ahmed said, they arrested the five from a fish selling store at Barobazer in the afternoon. As per their version, when the law enforcers tried to seize the contra banned, they were trying to bar to conduct the drive.
The followers of the chairman had tried to block Jhenaidah-Jessore highway at Barobazer. Later the law enforcers forced them to leave the road within a few moments.
RAB-6 camp commander said, they seized 122 bottles of phensedyl syrup, 250 yaba tablets and two bombs from their possession during the drive.
The RAb was processing to file case in this regard with respective police station and hand over the arrested to police, Major Manir Ahmed said..
