Distribution of Text Books free of cost among the school level students is a good initiative indeed on behalf of the government. But if these books have misspelled words with dropped sentences or part of the sentence then both the students and the teachers become vulnerable about what to read and what to teach. It is an agreed fact that text books are the basic component of whole education system. So, throughout the world, in depth study and research works are continuously going on how to improve the standard of text books as these can attract students more smoothly and help them to become capable to cope with contemporary reality in attaining proper skill and temperament. Spelling mistakes and other errors in text books are unimaginable in developed and most of the developing countries.
But unfortunately, the picture is reverse in our country. Though we are not so rich a country, a good amount of money is allocated every year in our national budget for education sector. This allocation is increasing every year. But there is no adequate reflection of proper use of this money. If the basic components of education, i.e. text books are not prepared with proper care then what more can we hope from the system. We must say that our students are helpless victims of some careless and corrupt people who know profit only and nothing else. But there are authorities to monitor whether the works are done properly and whether any irregularity has surfaced. Why this part of the system is not working properly is a big question. Should we believe that the whole system has been rotten? If so, overhauling is a must.
