Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Masud Bin Momen sought concerted and firm steps from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in the bilateral diplomatic efforts between Bangladesh and Myanmar to resolve the Rohingya crisis.
“The Security Council is expressing solidarity for the peaceful, fair and permanent solution to such longstanding crisis which is very important,” he told an open discussion on current situation in the Middle East including Palestine held recently at the UN Security Council in New York.
He said: “Bangladesh has been facing the Rohingya crisis for the three decades last. Unless the crisis is resolved, the longstanding crisis will be a serious threat to the international and regional security.”
Momen also reiterated his call for permanent solution of Palestine crisis.
