DC in Kishoreganj and Sholakia Eidgah Managing committee President Mohammad Shamim Alam presided over the programme. Senior Police Super (SP) Mashrukur Rahman Khaled Bpm (Bar), Zila Parishad chairman Advocate Zillur Rahman, its CEO (DS) Md.Abdullah ADC(General), ADM Farzana Khanam , Mayor Pervez Miah RAB-14, Kishoreganj Camp commonder Major Shaharia, Sadar uno Mohammad Ali Siddique, additional SP (SB) Anirban Chowdhury, Channel I (TV) Chief Reporter Chhakar Malliah khan and Sholakia Eidgah managing committee members were also present.
Against the backdrop of the last six years militant attack, Administration has taken unprecedented security measures for the country’s largest Eidgah Sholakia, where hundreds of thousands of people offer prayers on the Eid day.
In Last two years 193th and 194th Sholakia eid congregation no held due to COVID-19.
DC in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam said “We have brought the Sholakia Eidgah under unprecedented security arrangement with deployment of five platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel and a large number of police, RAB and Ansar personnel,” Sr.SP Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) said, Closed Circuit Camera Television (CCTVs) and 4 watch towers have been set up at each of the entry points of Kishoreganj town and the Sholakia Eidgah to make the security foolproof.
None will be allowed to enter the Eidgah without search.
Police are now conducting drive at each of the houses and the house owners have been asked not to rent out their houses to new tenants
195th jamaat will be held at 10:00 am.
Plain clothes personnel from different intelligence agencies have been entrusted with strict vigilance in the town and Sholakia ground, Sr.SP Mashrukur Rahman Khaled added.
