United efforts in tackling terrorism threat stressed

Speakers at a seminar here laid emphasis on coordinated efforts in tackling the threats of modern day terrorism.
They came up with these observations on Saturday while addressing a seminar titled ‘Intelligence, National Security and Counterterrorism: A South Asian Perspective’ held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU).
Organized by Department of International Relations of DU in collaboration with Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA), the seminar was addressed by DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr Nasreen Ahmad, head of Department of International Relations Professor Ashequa Irshad, dean of faculty of Social Science, Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, Dr ASM Ali Ashraf, among others.
Retired diplomat Ashfaqur Rahman, Air Cdre (retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Chowdhury, Brig Gen (retd) Shahedul Anam Khan, additional secretary (Political) of Ministry of the Home Affairs, Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed, member (ops & planning) of Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh, Air Cdre M Shafiqul Alam spoke while Professor Ehsanul Haque, Professor Shahiduzzaman took part as discussants.
