The Unilever Bangladesh Limited and BASF Bangladesh Limited on Sunday donated Taka 5.46 crore to Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation (BLWF) as a fixed part of their profit.
Director of (Human Resources) Unilever Bangladesh Limited Kunal Sharma and Chairman and Managing Director of BASF Bangladesh Limited M Sazzadul Hassan handed over cheques of their respective organisations to State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu at Secretariat here.
Of the donation, Unilever Bangladesh Limited provided cheques for Tk 5,34,35,536 while BASF Bangladesh Ltd gave cheque for Tk 11,69,263, said a press release.
A total of 115 companies have donated to the fund till now. And the total amount of the fund is over Taka 310 crore, added the release.
Secretary of the ministry Afroza Khan, Director General of Labour Welfare Foundation Dr Anisul Awal, Uniliver General Manager MM Zillur Rahman and Secretary of Trustee Board Shariful Islam were present, among others.
