Police recovered an unidentified chopped dead body from Kirtankhola River on Saturday afternoon.
With chopping injuries on different parts of the male dead body was aged around 40/44.
Left leg of the dead body was amputated from knee and right leg was amputated from toe, police sources said.
Kazi Mahbubur Rahman, Kawnia police station officer in charge, giving the facts said police rushed to the brick field of Labu Mia at Char Ulalghuni under Charbaria union of Barisal Sadar upazila after receiving information from local people and recovered the partly decomposed dead body at about 3:00 PM Saturday.
The victim after chopping to death thrown to river and floating on tide it stuck on the shoal, police official assumed.
The dead body sent to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy and message sent to all police stations for identification, police sources added.
